Hapag ng Pagasa (Table of Hope) is a popular painting that depicts the Last Supper. But instead of the twelve Apostles, this work of art shows Jesus Christ eating in a table with twelve street children. This and other great works are now displayed at an art gallery here in Marikina.
Joey A. Velasco, a “Heartist” (Artist with a heart), is the man behind the painting. He was able to immortalize this and other images through his many artworks before he died at the age of 43.
Some of which are now displayed at the Joey Velasco Gallery at Riverbanks Center, here in Marikina. Entrance fee is only Php 100.00. Senior Citizens will be given 20% discount.
