The Marikina City Government is searching for outstanding Marikeños!
Gawad Galing Marikeño 2014
Marikeños who have been successful with their chosen fields through outstanding leadership and excellence, thereby contributing to the community at the local, regional, national or international levels, will be recognized in this year’s Gawad Galing Marikeño Awards.
The criteria for choosing the Gawad Galing Marikeño awardees are:
- 40% – Contribution to the community and/or to the nation
- 40% – Professional excellence and in the field of his/her profession
- 20% – Leadership and being innovative that implies the core values of a true Marikeño
Submit an accomplished Gawad Galing Marikeño nomination form (download here) along with a certified true copy of the nominee’s birth certificate or any equivalent proof of date and place of birth at the Marikina City Library. You can send in your nominations until November 21, 2014.
This is open to all Marikenyos here and abroad.

Does it have to be that the Nominee is born in Marikina or would it also be considered it the nominee has been residing in Marikina for almost five years now? Thanks.
based from the guidelines, i think you need to be born in Marikina.
