Here’s a first look at the proposed new Marikina City Hall…
Its an elevated 4 storey building which will also be used as an evacuation center during disasters.
The ground floor will serve as vehicular parking and will cater to persons with disabilities. The second floor will have 10 spacious office units. The 3rd and 4th floors will be used as function rooms, complete with toilets, storage and easy access to the terrace, which will serve as a mess hall.
During disaster, these function rooms will be used as an evacuation center. A mezzanine will be provided for security and monitoring purposes. A recreational facility and a helicopter pad will be placed on the deck floor.
It will be built over the existing city hall. While construction is ongoing, displaced city hall personnel will be temporarily housed in different government buildings in Marikina.
