This post has been updated.
This early, many are already waiting for the announcement if we’ll have a Tiangge sa ilog, Tiangge sa City Hall, or “NO Tiangge at all” for 2014.
The NO Tiangge happened last year when, due to some issues, the Marikina Government decided not to have the yearly Tiangge. What we saw are mini-tiangge operated by each Barangay.
According to several sources, there is a high chance that this years Marikina Christmas Bazaar will be back in its original spot, at the Marikina River park (ilog).
I think we can still put the stalls there, provided that there are safeguards in place to mitigate the risk of the stalls and merchandises being swept away by river floods due to heavy rains such as.
- Placing the merchandises in floaters or “banka” shaped tables. Mas magandang tingnan.
- Make sure there are duty guards or Barangay Tanods in the evening to alert stall owners or help in the removal of stalls.
Expect this post to be updated by the 2nd week of November when the Marikina Government should officially announce the schedule and venue for this year’s Marikina Christmas Bazaar.
Tuloy na tuloy na ang tiangge sa ilog this year!
