Marikina City became the subject of artworks as Urban Sketchers Philippines photographed some of the City’s attractions using pen and paper.
Last August 23. 2014, some members of Urban Sketchers Philippines converged at Kapitan Moy here in Marikina. Their subjects were anything under the sun.
After an hour or so, they’ve finished their masterpieces…
Urban Sketchers Philippines is the local chapter of Urban Sketchers, a network of artists around the world who draw the cities where they live and travel to. Their mission is to “Show the World, One Drawing at a Time.”
This group wants to prove that despite all odds, we are able to share a glimpse of the beauty (and not) of our cities or otherwise about life through our sketchbooks. It has less to do with skill level or technique. What is more important is experiencing the process of looking, seeing, feeling and recording on paper. Everyone is welcome can join us on occasional trips on foot around the city.
