The PNP Firearms and Explosives Office is putting-up an Assistance Center in Marikina City to facilitate processing of license to own and possess firearm or LTOPF from July 24 to 27 during the Philippine Practical Shooting Association National Capital Region Championship, also known as 14th Demetrio “Bolo” Tuason Cup.
The said frontline service is in line with the conduct of a nationwide firearms registration caravan of the PNP to encourage holders of illegal firearms and delinquent gun owners to have their guns registered.
Police Chief Superintendent Reuben Theodore Sindac, Chief PNP Public Information Office, said the caravan will be an initial step for planned nationwide gun amnesty.
“This is to help facilitate the processing for the application of LTOPF and extend our frontline services closer to the people,” said PCSupt Sindac.
He said personnel of the Firearms and Explosives Office headed by Police Chief Superintendent Virgilio Lazo will be going to the provinces to receive the application for gun license.
The first scheduled caravan will be from September 2 to 4 for gun owners in the CARAGA Region. It will be held at Camp Rodriguez in Libertad, Butuan City.
