The City Government of Marikina prohibits any person and/or individual to manufacture and sell firecrackers or pyrotechnic devices and such other similar devices and explosives within the territorial jurisdiction of the city.
It provides the following penalty:
A fine of Five Thousand Pesos (P5,000.00) be imposed by the City Government of Marikina on the violator of this ordinance, without prejudice to the filing of a case in an appropriate Court. At the discretion of the Court, the violator may be imposed the penalty of imprisonment.
However, this ordinance is not being implemented. I have not seen any ordinance or court ruling nullifying this ordinance. Then I heard the city council recently passed an ordinance designating Firecracker zones here in Marikina. I’m still searching for a copy of the ordinance.
You can download a copy of the Ordinance here.
