Saw a post over at OffBeat Mail that there are still relief goods that has not yet been distributed in Marikina.

My sources in Metro Manila had informed me that a big building at the back of the Marikina City Hall are still bursting with relief goods. This can be seen from outside by any passers-by as the facade of the building is covered by glass panels. And the funny thing is that how come these relief goods have not been distributed to the flood victims?

I immediately sent a message to my friends working at Marikina City Hall and my brother to pass by the area to see if there’s any truth to this.

I passed by the Marikina Sports center and saw some tents in the middle of the oval field. I though there were campers housing rescue personnel that are helping out in the rehabilitation of Marikina City.

But a closer look revealed that they were tents that is used by Marikenyos homeless left homeless by Typhoon Ondoy.

The Marikina City Government has made a new way of making it easy for us to communicate with them whenever you need help.

You can now use Marikina Live Help chat. Just log on to the official Marikina City website. I hope someone will man this chat during emergencies. Any feedback from you my dear readers about using this facility would be appreciated.

Another establishment that was hardly hit by Typhoon Ondoy and submerged in Floodwaters was the Riverbanks Mall part of the many establishments within the Riverbanks Center.

Though there were not much to see inside but damaged stalls, ceilings and floors, they are letting people inside the mall. More pictures after the break.

The Marikina Digital Photographers Club is holding a Photo Exhibit at the Cyberzone area of SM Marikina.

The exhibit, which started last October 26 and will run until November 2,  is showcasing pictures taken by MDPC club members and SM Employees.

I’ve also taken some pictures using my Nokia N82 and I’ve posted some here in Inside Marikina and also on my Picasa and Facebook Page.

Until now, there are still places in Marikina City where there are still piles of garbage that has not yet been collected.

Like what I posted earlier, I even saw garbage still piled along our street. We had to ask for the help of our uncle from the Quezon City Engineering Department to send a truck to pickup the garbage in our area.
